Reading this book i find it a little dry and hard to get through but i am interested how the whole civil rights movement started. I am also curious how it all started, there were so many people that decided to band together for inequality and it wasnt just the African Americans. I am intrigued by what encouraged all these people involvement such as a personal stories because that is usually what motivate someone. I am also intrigued by these peoples strength to hold there known and to not retaliate but to try to prove to people what they are doing wrong.

Baldwin would definately be happy to see the person running the country, but I don't think that he would be able to accept the fact that some people are still racist today. I believe that there will always be some sort of racism in the world even though it isnt that bad people do have views and reasons why they feel a certain way and people refuse to change. But even though racism is horrible i believe it affects everyone. It something that you have to deal with your self. Coming from a smaller town that population is majortiy caucasian racism is very common, even though i dont have the same beliefs i had to deal with it all the time. Some people dont care about other people feelings and that is how society tends to be. I wish the world would change but without the conflict of racism people would find something else wrong with people. Being gay is also something in our country that isnt widly accepted, our own president doesnt support gay marriage but he supports civil unions. I believe we will always have problems with our society and there will always be that person who doesnt care.
